Welcome to ReefTekLab. By accessing or purchasing from ReefTekLab.com, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read this document carefully before placing an order. These terms apply to all purchases, including printed products, digital downloads, livestock, corals, and aquarium equipment.

1. GENERAL CONDITIONS

ReefTekLab reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time. All content, products, and materials provided via ReefTekLab.com are for educational use only. You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, or resell any part of our products or content without written permission.

2. PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS

We make every reasonable effort to display product details accurately. Colors, sizes, coral variations, and appearance may differ slightly from images due to natural variance or monitor differences.

3. ORDER ACCEPTANCE

Placing an order does not guarantee fulfillment. ReefTekLab may cancel or refuse orders at any time due to inventory issues, shipping limitations, or suspected fraud.

4. PRICING & PAYMENTS

All prices are listed in USD unless otherwise stated. By completing a purchase, you authorize ReefTekLab (and Stripe, our payment processor) to charge your selected payment method for the total amount shown at checkout. Taxes may apply depending on your jurisdiction.

5. SHIPPING POLICY

Shipping times are estimates and not guarantees. ReefTekLab is not responsible for delays caused by carriers, weather, holidays, or incorrect shipping information provided by the customer. Risk of loss transfers to the customer at the time the shipment is handed over to the carrier.

6. LIVE CORALS & LIVESTOCK DISCLAIMER

Purchasing live coral or livestock involves risk. By purchasing from ReefTekLab, you acknowledge:

  • You have adequate knowledge to care for the species purchased.
  • You understand coral appearance may vary due to lighting, stress, or shipping.
  • ReefTekLab is not responsible for livestock loss after delivery.

7. DOA (DEAD ON ARRIVAL) POLICY

Please refer to our Refund Policy for full DOA rules. ReefTekLab requires:

  • A clear, continuous video of the unopened bag within 1 hour of delivery.
  • DOA claims apply to coral cost only, not shipping.
  • Store credit only. No cash refunds.

Failure to provide required DOA proof voids coverage.

8. PRINTED PRODUCTS & JOURNALS

Refunds for printed journals are available within 10 days only if returned unused and in resellable mint condition. No refunds for digital downloads under any circumstances.

9. EQUIPMENT SALES & WARRANTIES

All sales of aquarium equipment (dosers, pumps, lights, wave makers, filters, accessories) are final. Defective products are covered under the manufacturer's warranty. ReefTekLab does not accept returns for used equipment, installation errors, water damage, misuse, or normal wear.

10. REFUND POLICY

Refund and return rules differ by product type. The full policy is available on our Refund Policy page. By purchasing from ReefTekLab, you agree to all refund limitations, proof requirements, and deadlines applicable to your product category.

11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

ReefTekLab is not liable for:

  • Damage or loss caused by improper installation, tank conditions, water chemistry, equipment failure, or acclimation methods.
  • Coral or livestock loss after delivery.
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

You agree to use all products at your own risk and understand that reef aquariums require experience and proper care.

12. DIGITAL PRODUCTS

All digital downloads (PDFs, guides, journals, e-books) are non-refundable and may not be shared, distributed, or resold. You receive a personal-use license only.

13. USER ACCOUNTS & DATA

By creating an account or subscribing to email updates, you agree to receive communications from ReefTekLab. Customer data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. PROHIBITED USES

You may not use our site, products, or services for:

  • Illegal activity
  • Fraud or chargeback abuse
  • Intellectual property violation
  • Harmful or malicious behavior

15. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

16. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS

ReefTekLab may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

17. AGREEMENT

By completing a purchase from ReefTekLab, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to all Terms of Service, Refund Policies, DOA rules, and Shipping Policies.
